Position: Head Dispatcher Simcoe Region

Canadian Locators Inc is currently recruiting a Head Dispatcher – Simcoe Region. This position is based in the Markham, ON office.

Canadian Locators Inc. is an underground locating company.

Reporting to the Project coordinator, the Head Dispatcher role will assist our project teams in the development of our subcontractor network and in the delivery of various projects for our clients.  This includes coordinating the activities of dispatches including tracking and scheduling.

 

 

  • Ensuring Projects Adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each Project

 

  • Ensure Contractor’s Complaints and concerns are managed toward the best solution

 

  • Create and maintain Project files with Managers as well as Contractors for fulfilling each goal and objectives

 

  • Facilitate meetings with Major Contractors as well as utility members to keep them informed of the progress of locates in their current Projects

 

  • Provide administrative support as needed

 

  • Prepare necessary Project materials to maintain and keep track of the progress of locates and escalate any issues to utility companies in a timely manner to avoid delays in locates.

 

  • Organizing attending and participating in Contractor/Utility member’s meetings

 

  • Plan, organize, and assign a large volume of locate requests to the appropriate group of locators in a particular area

 

  • Investigate and resolve any ticket conflicts and dispatch emergency to locate requests including Enbridge Gas Emergencies

 

  • Work closely with Enbridge Gas, Hydro One, Aecon, Link on, and other Utility Owners as well as contractors

 

  • In charge of 20 locators in coordinating, reviewing, and dispatching them daily through Locatorbase System

 

  • Facilitate Weekly and Bi-weekly meetings with the locators as well as the Field Operations Manager

 

  • Coordinate with executive and administrative staff to handle requests and queries from senior managers

 

  • Record and maintain files of processed tickets, emergencies, damage investigation requests, or other dispatch information

 

  • Write and distribute emails, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms and provide additional administrative support as supervised by the project coordinator

 

  • Ensure the supply of proper equipment and machinery for field employees and request their maintenance

 

  • Efficiently handle a large volume of emails and calls

 

  • Screen & dispatch emergency, damage, and no-show tickets in a timely manner in Locatorbase System
  • Organizes locate information and data to identify major trends, problems, and causes compares and combines information to identify underlying issues

 

  • Takes advantage of available resources (Locators, processes, departments, and tools) to complete work efficiently

 

 

Qualifications

  • Education -. College Degree or other equivalent education
  • Head Dispatcher related experience is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, and general computer functions
  • Multitask and perform well in a very fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Work independently and in a team dynamic
  • One-year work experience in Utility locates dispatching
  • Open to learning and taking on new challenges with a positive mindset
  • Possess proficient communication and interpersonal skills

 

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Group Benefits: He/ She will be eligible to participate in the company’s benefit plans, subject to the terms of the respective plan.

Salary: $18.50 per hour
