Job Description
Paradise Inn & Suites, a well-known hotel in Valleyview, is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead operations at its on-site restaurant, The Boss Breakfast and Steakhouse, where culinary excellence meets community care. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations and ensure the preparation and delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals to South Valley Residence Care Centre (SL4 & SL4D).
Requirements
English proficiency is a must
Education & Experience:
- Postsecondary diploma in hospitality or food and beverage service management within a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting
OR
- Completion of high school with 3-4 years of experience in the food industry, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
Experience in both restaurant operations and healthcare/senior food services is preferred, but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
Restaurant Operations
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient service delivery, profitability, and a high-quality dining experience.
- Develop and implement operating policies, procedures, and quality standards to maintain excellence in food and service.
- Plan and coordinate daily service schedules, table assignments, and staffing levels to ensure smooth front- and back-of-house operations.
- Oversee menu planning, food preparation, and presentation to ensure all dishes meet culinary standards and align with the restaurant’s fine-dining reputation.
- Supervise kitchen and service staff, establish work schedules, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Monitor inventory levels, control costs, and negotiate with suppliers for premium ingredients and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and food-handling regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas to uphold cleanliness and service standards.
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Analyze sales reports, and customer feedback to evaluate performance and implement operational improvements.
- Lead promotional initiatives, community events, and partnerships to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
Senior Residence Food Services
- Collaborate daily with healthcare professionals and dietitians to design balanced, senior-friendly menus in compliance with Alberta Health Services SL4 & SL4D dietary standards.
● Oversee and ensure the preparation and timely delivery of nutritious, well-balanced meals to residents, accommodating allergies, dysphagia diets, and individual dietary needs.
● Supervise food safety, portion control, and delivery logistics to guarantee quality and timeliness.
Administrative and Management Duties
- Supervise recruitment, training, and performance management of kitchen and service staff.
● Control inventory, monitor revenues, and adjust procedures and pricing to maintain profitability.
● Ensure full compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety requirements, and public health regulations.
● Reviews purchases, expenditures, and sales reports to ensure cost efficiency, maintain budgetary control, and maximize profitability while supporting effective inventory management and operational decision-making.
